Abstract

770,033. Tyre valves. GOODRICH CO., B. F. March 8, 1954 [March 26, 1953; March 26, 1953], No. 6439/56. Divided out of 770,032. Class 135. An inflating valve for use with tubeless tyres comprises a rubber &c. body with a rigid insert 114 bonded therein to receive the usual check valve 116, and a flanged base with an annular groove to fit within an aperture 127 in the wheel rim R. The portion 121 of the body above the groove is tapered to facilitate insertion of the body into the rim aperture. The part of the flange that engages the inner face of the rim has annular ridges 123, and the inner face of the body has bonded to it a metal washer 124 over which a rubber cover may be bonded.
