Abstract
770,324. Exhaust silencers; supplying liquid fuel. DRAGONAIR, Ltd. Aug. 29, 1955 [Aug. 28, 1954], No. 25048/54. Classes 7 (2) and 7 (3). [Also in Group XIII] Silencers.-A silencer in which exhaust combustion gases from an air heater 7 and 'from an I.C. engine 9 are cooled by air from a fan 8 driven by the engine (see Group XIII) comprises an outer tube 19, an inner perforated tube 22, asbestos or glass wool 23 in the space between them, and inlets 25, 26, 30 for the heater exhaust, engine exhaust, and coolant air respectively. Supplying liquid fuel.-The fuel tank 11 of the engine 9 is supplied with fuel through a pipe 38 from a relief valve in a fuel pump 32 which feeds fuel from a main tank 10 to the burner of the air heater 7. The pump 32 supplies more fuel than the burner needs and the excess flows to the tank 11. An overflow pipe 39 returns excess fuel from the tank 11 to the tank 10.
