Abstract
770,113. Rotary compressors. VENEDIGER H. J. March 2, 1955 [March 15, 1954], No 6102/55. Class 110 (2). A pump of the outwardly-sliding radial or substantially radial vane type comprises two pumping units which are arranged in a common casing about parallel axes and are drivingly interconnected for rotation in opposite directions relative to one another by means of a gear on the driven shaft of one unit engaging a gear on the driving-shaft of the other. The rotors 6, 61 are made of aluminium-silicon alloy and are journalled in cast-iron or steel liners 5, 51 which are cast or shrunk in the stator 1, each rotor consisting of four segments screwed to a flanged shaft 11, 12. The shafts are interconnected by gear-wheels 13, 14 and the shaft 11<SP>1</SP> or 12 drives a lubricating pump 15. Each rotor contains two one-piece, H-shaped nickelsteel vanes 16, 17. The liners 5, 51 have circular or oval air inlet and outlet passages 19, 20 respectively, see Fig. 1 (not shown), the stator being provided with a common inlet opening having an air filter and a silencer. Several such units may be arranged in series or arranged in parallel next to one another or above one another, the several units being drivingly coupled together. The blower may be connected to the lubricating circuit of the main machine through suitable bores, see Fig. 1 (not shown). Each rotor may constitute a one-piece structure and the vanes may be constructed from an impregnated fabric.
