Abstract
868,187. Rotary engines and compressors. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. Sept. 1, 1959 [Sept. 12, 1958], No. 29816/59. Class 110 (2). The engine is of the gyratory-piston type and comprises a stator with walls 5, 6, 11 carrying axial projections 17 in the form of spirals and gyratory piston discs 12, 13, bearing similar projections 16 which are tangential to the stator spirals. Each disc 12, 13 is carried on a number of eccentrics 31 carried by spindles 32 which are coupled to a driven shaft 35 by gearing 34, 33. Compressed gas is led to central ducts 40 . . . 43 by way of pipes 36 ... 39 and forces the discs to gyrate and, through the eccentrics 31, to rotate the gears. Axial holes 45, 46 allow balance of pressures on the end faces of the discs 12, 13. The eccentrics 31, for the two discs, are displaced by 180 degrees for balancing purposes. Exhaust ports 49 for the gases lead to a manifold 50 and an outlet 51. Packing-rings 53, 54 and leakage-collecting ducts 56 are provided. A number of stages of expansion of the working- fluid may be arranged. French Specification 980,737 is referred to.
