Abstract

769,571. Windows. WYETH, H. A. May 16, 1955 [June 1, 1954], No. 16166/54. Class 20(3) A casement window 10, Fig. 4, is hinged at 20 to a member 11 secured to an upright member 12 having wheeled carriages 13 at its upper and lower ends which run in channel guides in the fixed frame A, Fig. 5. On releasing a stud 15 on member 12 from engagement with an opening in plate A<SP>1</SP> secured to the frame A, the upright 12 may be moved to a central position and the window 10 reversed for cleaning from the inside as shown on the left of Fig. 4. Wall clips 17 are provided for holding the windows 10 in reversed position. Locking bolts 16 and stay bars 19 are also provided. The member 11 is cut away at B and secured to member 12 by screws 11a co-operating with slots 11b so that the window is vertically adjustable in relation to the carriages 13 or by removing the screws 11a may be completely withdrawn from the frame A. In a modification. Fig. 8, more than two windows 10 are provided and each intermediate slidable upright member 21 is of H section. Plates 17a secured to the end window at its upper and lower sides lock the window in closed position and retain the adjoining window in the reversed position similarly to the wall clips 17
