A device for controlling the passage of animals comprises two frameworks 4 and 6 interconnected by sidewalls 8, the framework 4 being closed by a folding gate 10 having studs sliding in channels 24 in the top and bottom members of the framework. The frames are provided with eyes 30, 32, 34, 36, 40 and 42 for securing the gate to other equipment, the eyes 40, 42 allowing the width of the opening from the frame 6 to be adjusted. The device is used at either end of a weighing machine as described in co-pending Specification 1,252,421.
