An air distributing box 4 supplied with air from a fan has outlet nozzles arranged at its upper edge, and each nozzle comprises a flat tube 7 with side walls which taper towards the nozzle outlet. Transverse partitions 9 extend between the flat tapering walls of the nozzle and form tapering outlet passages 10. The base of each nozzle comprises a rectangular plate 5, and the length of the tube 7 is at least three times the width of the slot 6 in the plate. The length of each passage 10 is substantially equal to its greatest diameter. As shown, the plates 5 are stepped and overlap, and are secured to the edge of the box by screws.
