Abstract
766,152. Regulating; supercharging. LEYLAND MOTORS, Ltd. July 12, 1954 [June 29, 1953], No. 18000/53. Classes 7 (2) and 7 (6). A centrifugal blower 1 is in series with a positive displacement blower 7 say a Rootes blower and simultaneously acting means controlled by an engine driven speed sensitive governor are provided to interrupt the drive of the positive displacement blower at high speeds and to byepass it. The centrifugal blower is driven by a turbine working on the exhaust gas of the engine 2. The invention relates particularly to compression ignition engines. An air cooler 5 is provided.
