Abstract

765.273. Switch contacts. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Inc. Feb. 25, 1955 [March 2, 1954] No. 5701/55. Class 38(5) In a dual layer contact on a spring blade 3, the outer layer 1 is of a metal alloy which contains more than 50 per cent of gold but less than 5 per cent of metal from the group platinum, palladium iridium, rhodium ruthenium and osmium. The inner layer 2 may be either (a) a pure metal from the above group or pure silver. or (b) an alloy containing at least 50 per cent of metal from the above group or silver. Various examples and thicknesses of the layers are given.
