765,089. Rotary printing-machines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURN - BERG AKT.-GES. Feb. 11, 1955 [Feb. 13, 1954], No. 4173/55. Class 100(2) A multiple-couple offset rotary printing- machine wherein each offset cylinder 5 has a heated impression cylinder 4 having a drying device associated therewith, the diameter of the impression cylinder 4 being approximately twice that of the offset cylinder 5. As shown, a web is printed on one side by passage around one impression cylinder 4 engaging an offset cylinder 5 co-operating with a plate cylinder 6. The cylinder 4 has an arcuate drying hood 7. while air is supplied to the cylinder 4 by a blower 8 driven by an electric motor 9. A turning bar 10 reverses the web such that impressions effected by the second and third printing couples are on the back of the web; these impressions may be twocolour. If desired, the bar 10 may be inserted between the second and third couples, while more or less than three couples may be used. Since the web path lies clear of the inking and damping devices these devices are readily accessible.
