Abstract

1,234,357. Printing apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 16 Oct., 1969 [31 Oct., 1968], No. 50947/69. Heading B6C. The dryers 7-11 which are part of linked rotary printing machines 1-5 are pivoted so that each may receive the web from its associated impression cylinder irrespective of the direction of travel of the web 6 between the impression and plate cylinders of the particular machine. Preferably the printing machines 1-5 are intaglio printing machines and within each dryer 7-11 the web 6 is guided by rollers or by an endless belt while hot air is blown over it. Depending on the combination of multicolour and perfecting printing being carried out the web 6 may be fed through the machines 1-5 in any of a variety of paths and orders.
