Abstract

764,663. Nuts; screw-heads. DZUS, W. Feb, 16, 1955 [May 3, 1954], No. 4679/55. Classes 89 (1) and 89 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] A fastening-device 10, Fig. 1, of the kind operable by rotation, e.g. a screw-threaded bolt or nut, is formed with an annular groove 12 or projection around the axis of rotation, for engagement by a driving-key, the peripheries of the groove or ring having tooth-shaped serrations, one edge 14 of each serration being disposed substantially radially of the groove or ring. The serrations have radial edges 14 and tangential edges 13, the teeth on the outer periphery being engaged during clockwise rotation and those on the inner periphery during anti-clockwise rotation. The radial edges of both peripheries are substantially in radial alignment with each other. The driving- tool comprises a tubular member 15, Fig. 3, with a tommy-bar 16 and serrations 17, the serrations being formed on a projecting ring or in an annular groove to correspond with the device.
