Abstract

764,236. Screening apparatus. ROSS, W. Jan. 25, 1955, No. 2172/55. Class 117 In screens of the kind comprising travelling screening bars 1, 2 extending transversely of their direction of travel and connected with endless conveyer means, the bars are supported by a floating frame 9, 10 which extends outwardly beyond the ends of the bars and is resiliently supported on the main frame of the screen. The bars are connected to spaced chains 3 passing over pairs of sprockets 4, 5 and the bars 2 fall away from the main bars 1 as they leaves the screening zone. The resiliently mounted frame comprises transverse bears 9 rigid with longitudinal rails 10, and the beams terminate in spring housings 13 each containing two helical springs 14 which bear on the main beams 15 of the screen. Alternatively each housing may contain one, or three or more springs. Instead of helical springs, leaf springs or dampers using air, water &c. may be used. Specification 555,350 is referred to.
