Abstract
762,792. Cooling fuel injectors. NYDQVIST & HOLM AKTIEBOLAG. April 12, 1954 [April 21, 1953], No. 10703/54. Class 7 (3). A fuel injection nozzle 1 is enclosed in a sleeve 3 which has cooling passages 4 and is fixed to the cylinder head by the same means 9 that holds the fuel injection nozzle 3, the sleeve containing in its lower part a cooling bushing 7 contacting the lower end of the nozzle and surrounded by an annular space 6 through which cooling medium flows, which bushing has an interior flange clamped between the nozzle tip 1 and the release 3. The bushing 7, preferably made of copper or copper alloy, is force-fitted in the sleeve 3, which is preferably of a corrosion resistant material such as stainless steel. The bolts 9 which hold both the nozzle and the sleeve 3 in position are reduced in diameter at their upper ends to limit the clamping force on the nozzle.
