Class 7(3) A fuel injector 8 is held in position at the lower end of the mounting bore 2 in the cylinder head by a sleeve 23 acted upon by a clamping plate 24, the fuel supply pipe 19 and coolant delivery and return pipes 18, 20, passing upwardly through the sleeve 23. The coolant flows through a space 14 surmounting the injection valve. The mounting bore is formed by a sleeve 2 passing through the cylinder head cooling space 3.
