Coolant flows from an annular chamber 4, Fig. 1, to a chamber 17 both via ducts 22, Fig. 2, feeding nozzles 19 directed towards highly thermally stressed parts and via ducts 8, annular spaces 10 around four exhaust valve seats 9, ducts 11, a chamber 14 around a central fuel valve 3 and recesses 15. The ducts 8 are adjustably supplied from the chamber 4 via ducts 5 controlled by screws 21.
