762,349. Pneumatic plug gauges. SIGMA INSTRUMENT GO., Ltd. Sept. 14, 1955 [Dec. 30, 1954], No. 37675/54. Class 106 (2). A plug gauge for use with a pneumatic gauging apparatus comprises two parallel cantilevers 6, 7 preferably formed from a cylindrical shell 2 by splitting it diametrically, a gauging anvil 8 on the free end of each cantilever, a tube 3 between the cantilevers connectible to a source of air, a valve 12, 12B for controlling escape of air from the tube and means, such as a V-shaped spring strip 15, between the free ends of the cantilevers and the valve to vary the valve opening in accordance with the distance between the anvils. The needle valve shown has a parabolic head 12B seating on a bush 9A and is urged by a spring 14 into an open condition. Specifications 724,205 and 724,228 are referred to.
