Class 122(1) [Also in Group XXIX] In a hydraulic accumulator for free pistor 11 separating the compressed air chamber 12 from the oil chamber 13 is sealed by two resilient packing rings. such as rubber O-rings 26, 27 housed in the end grooves 24. 25 of three circumferential grooves in the piston and the central groove 28, which becomes filled with oil during operation, is vented to the air chamber 12 through a passage 29 extending from the land 21 between the grooves 24 and 28 to the air side face 11a of the piston.
