Abstract

<PICT:0758689/IV(c)/1> In the spraying of textile fibres with a water-oil mixture during the manufacture of textiles, the mixture is stirred in a container by admitting gas at an elevated pressure through a pipe 7 to the upper end of the container and admitting gas at a slightly higher pressure through a nozzle 11 to the lower end of the container so that the gas bubbles through the liquid, in the container at a rate determined by the difference between the two gas pressures, and the mixture is ejected from the container 1 by the gas pressure through an atomizing nozzle 13 whereby the mixture is applied to the fibres in the form of a mist. The compressed air is supplied to the pipe 7 and nozzle 11 through a pressure reducer 8 and adjustable cock 9 respectively, from a compressed air tank 4 fed by a compressor 6.
