758,610. Cylinders for two-stroke engines. BAGUSAT, E'., and BAGUSAT, K. Sept. 14, 1954 [June 23, 1954], No. 26571/54. Class 7(2) [Also in Group XXII] A pearlite, cast iron or other liner 1 having cast thereon a light metal body 7 has formed therein intake, transfer and exhaust ports 2, 3, 4 respectively and transfer passages 3a into which the ports 3 open and which in turn open out nearer the foot end of the cylinder away from the cylinder interior. Inlet and exhaust passages in the body 7 are respectively smaller and larger than the corresponding ports 2, 4. Bores 11 take cylinder attachment bolts. The internal diameter of the liner 1 is initially undersize and is bored out after the casting on and after subsequent tempering and ageing. The liner 1 has a Brinell hardness of about 200 to 240.
