In a lever lock comprising one of a leverdiffered and masterkeyed set of a series and having only one key hole, the differing servant levers are directly operable by the appropriate servant key and are indirectly operable by a master key through the medium of master levers which are ungated, which master levers, when actuated by the master key, co-operate with and lift the differing servant levers by the same amounts respectively as would normally be imparted thereto by the servant key. As shown, in which a sliding bolt 10 is guided by stumps 12, 13, spring-loaded levers A and X are pivoted to the stump 12 in face-to-face contact, a stump 16 on the tail of the bolt projecting through an aperture 17 in each lever A and through an ungated aperture 18 in each lever X. The lever A is provided with a stud 20 by which the lever A is lifted by the lever X when the lock is operated by a master key 28, Fig. 6. A servant key 22, Fig. 5, is operative on the lever A, with or without movement thereby of the lever X. The arrangement described includes three levers A (servant levers), three levers X (master levers) and one lever which is operable by one of the bolt steps of both the servant and master keys, Fig. 4 (not shown). The invention is applicable to a lock in which the levers are sliding levers and to a lock having a latch bolt which is lockable directly by a key or indirectly by a key by means of a sliding runner.
