Abstract
757,208. Soil-injectors. FISONS PEST CONTROL, Ltd., [formerly PEST CONTROL, Ltd.]. May 21, 1954 [May 21, 1953], No. 14322/53. Class 6 (2). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] Apparatus for injecting fluids, e.g., into soil, comprises a flexible chamber 1, in the form of a bellows or diaphragm, to the upper end of which is attached an operating handle 7, an inlet pipe 4 and an outlet pipe 2 terminating in a stem 3; a stay 6 connects the pipes 2, 4. A frame 8 is attached to the lower end of the pump chamber and has a thrust face 9 for engaging the soil when the pump is actuated. The outlet pipe passes through a member 10 attached to the frame and may be locked by a screw 11. The stroke is limited by flanges 12, 13 on the outlet pipe, the flange 13 being set in the desired position by a screw 14; the suction stroke may be assisted by the spring 15. The outside of the outlet pipe may be reduced to accommodate an elastic sleeve valve 18 controlling the ports 17. The frame 8 may be adjustable in height to determine the penetration of the stem into the soil.
