[Class 102 (ii)] In apparatus for raising liquid in autoriiatically operated intermittent cycles, a closed pressure gas receptacle 13 is fixed above a liquid displacement receptacle 5, and the lower part 9 of the rising main 8 is disposed within the gas receptacle 13 and provided with a pilot valve 15, a piston and cylinder device 34 ... 37, and a gas inlet valve 17, the liquid passing up through a downwardly extending educ - tion pipe 11, and conduits 30, 33, to the rising main 8. The pilot valve 15 is opened when the gas pressure contracts a metal bellows 42 against the action of an adjustable spring 46. The part 9 has a conical lower end to seat upon packing 10 on a correspondingly shaped lower end of the receptacle 13.
