Abstract
755,741. Centrifugal separators. ROTAREAED CORPORATION. Dec. 16, 1953 [April 21, 1953], No. 35074/53. Class 23. [Also in Group VIII] Paper pulp supplied at 61 is separated into a dirt-rich and a dirt-free fraction in a hydrocyclone 60 maintained under vacuum applied at 67 to an expansion chamber 66, the dirtrich outlet at 77 passing through a barometric leg to a seal tank. The dirt-free fraction passes off at 71. In a de-aerating and purifying plant, Fig. 1 (not shown), de-aerated pulp is passed to a bank of the hydrocyclones arranged in parallel, the dirt-free fractions being returned for de-aeration and part of the dirtrich fractions being fed to a further hydrocyclone. Specification 677,483 [Group VIII] is referred to.
