Abstract
Mechanical paper pulp from chippings suitable for carton manufacture. Prepared by saturating chippings with h2O, and continually introducing them into pulper in absence of air at 100 degrees C, pref. 60-80 degrees C, and at pressure below atmospheric, enabling the H2O to boil at temp. coinciding with the pulping temp. Drawing off the steam formed and uncondensed gases so that the pressure remains constant, H2O being added to the pupler prior to the pulping materials in sufficient amount ot keep consistency of materials after pulping between 15-40%, discharging product continually in absence of air and refining the product.
