Abstract
817,342. Centrifugal separators. NAYLOR, T. R. March 7, 1956 [March 7, 1955], No. 6581/55. Class 23 In a centrifugal separator comprising a feed chamber 11 and one or more hydrocyclones 25, the feed chamber has an inlet 15 adjacent the end of the chamber where coarser solids settle, means 14 for removing the coarser solids, and one or more outlets 17 leading to the hydrocyclone or or hydrocyclones adjacent the other end of the chamber. As shown the inlet and outlets are respectively tangential and radial but in modifications they are respectively radial and tangential. A plate having a central aperture may be placed across the chamber immediately below the outlets.
