Abstract

802,212. Centrifugal separators. MASCHINENFABRIK HARTMANN AKT.-GES: Feb. 28, 1956, No. 6118/56. Class 23 Solids suspended in a carrier fluid are fed into the tangential inlet 2 of a cyclone separator, carrier fluid a n d finer solids passing above a plate 6, adjacent the convergent inlet portion 4 of the outlet 3, to discharge through the outlet, and the rest of the solids passing between the edge of the plate and the wall 1 of the separator for discharge. The plate and the outlet may be axially adjusted. In a modification the plate is frusto-conical and its side wall is parallel to the tapered part of the cyclone.
