Abstract

749,095. Centrifugal separators. WESTFALIA DINNENDAHL GRÍPPEL AKT.- GES. Dec. 3, 1953 [Dec. 3, 1952], No. 33675/53. Class 23. An open topped container for separating granular mixtures entrained in a carrier fluid comprises a cylindrical part 1 provided with a tangential inlet 2, a conical or hemi-spherical part 3 having a central outlet 4, and a frustoconical part 5. Baffles 6 are provided on the frusto-conical part to remove the swirl from the carrier fluid and light component before their discharge into a trough 7. The outlet 4 for the heavy component may be provided with means for regulating the flow and scrapers may assist the discharge of the light component.
