Abstract
794,789. Centrifugal separators. WAAGNER - BIRO AKT. - GES. July 2, 1956 July 1, 1955], No. 20345/56. Class 23 A separator for separating particles from a fluid comprises a whirl chamber 1, a tangential inlet 5 to the chamber, containers 2, 3 for collection of the particles and an outlet tube 4 for the fluid extending into a container. The particles may be discharged from the containers through outlets 11, 12. The containers may be connected by a pipe 8 for the discharge of particles from the container 2 to the container 3 or for the flow of fluid from the container 3 to the container 2. Sprays may be incorporated in the whirl chamber or adjacent the outlet 4 which may have a convergent or divergent end. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown) the containers are connected by an annular passage surrounding the whirl chamber. In a further modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the separator has a horizontal axis, and an outlet tube extending into each container.
