Abstract

751,500. Lubricating. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Jan. 21, 1954 [Jan. 29, 1953], No. 1846/54. Class 12 (3). In an oil circulation system for enclosed gearing the gear case is closed at the bottom by a flat hollow cover forming in itself a shallow cavity which constitutes a part of the suction passage of the system. As shown, a gear case 11 is closed at the bottom by a hollow cover consisting of two plates 13, 14 connected together around the edges. The plate 13 is provided with openings fitted with plate filters 19. Oil is sucked through the filters into the space 16 and through a pipe 20 by a pump 21, from which the filtered oil is passed to parts of the gear or other parts of the engine.
