Abstract

562,981. Air &c. filters. AIR-MAZE (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., and LOCKER, J. R. Dec. 15, 1942, No. 17780. [Class 8 (ii)] An oil-bath air and gas filter is provided with traps or cavities 22 on the inlet side of a partition 15 which directs the entering air downwards, into which cavities the oil flows on tilting, thus avoiding flooding of the filter screen 12 and restricting the area of liquid in contact with air &c. The cavities may be formed by baffles 21 shaped to assist pick-up of oil and further cavities 19 by a plate 18 reinforcing an outletcontrolling baffle 17. The filter may be flat, as shown, and as described in Specification 562,980, 'or cylindrical. Specification 544,296 also is referred to.
