Abstract

508,475. Gas filters. WITTEMEIER, H. Dec. 28, 1937, No. 35849. [Class 8 (ii)] Air or gas impinges on liquid and passes thence through a filter 3 and may also pass through a fine filter 7. The liquid is contained in two chambers. 5, 6 communicating below liquid level, one chamber being subject to the pressure of the entering gas, and the other to the pressure of gas which has passed through the filter, or to atmospheric pressure. The latter chamber, 5, may communicate with the space within or behind the fine filter by way of a tube 8 with regulable apertures. The filter 3 may be partly immersed in the liquid down to allow the gas to pass up from the base. The chamber 5 may be separate, or located in a space around the filter.
