Abstract

390,243. Gas filters. VOKES, C. G. and FRY, H. D., 95, Lower Richmond Road, Putney, London. Nov. 10, 1931, No. 31140. [Class 8 (ii).] Oil and moisture are removed from air or gas prior to entering a filter unit, by a skirt 4 surrounding the unit and conducting the liquid to the inner wall of a surrounding pipe 12; the liquid passes off through drain holes 6 and a drain cock 10. The bottom portion of the skirt is of gauze ; the air passes through the gauze and through louvres 13 to the filter unit which may be a star-shaped screen of material including felt, or cloth mounted by a pipe 2 on a partition 3 in the casing containing the units.
