Abstract
604,063. Aerating liquids. SINTERED PRODUCTS, Ltd., and SINCLAIR, C. E. Nov. 22, 1945, No. 31530. [Class 14(i)] A unit for distributing gases in liquids comprises a perforated inner tube 2 surrounded by a tube 3 consisting at least in part of porous metal and spaced apart therefrom by members 4, which divide the space between the tubes into a number of chambers. Gas may be passed into one end of the tube 2, the other end thereof and both ends of the tube 3 being closed. The tube 3 may comprise a number of porous metal elements separated by the members 4. A non-return valve may be provided at the gas inlet in order to reduce flooding of the unit when not in use; and a number of distributing units may be connected to a manifold and used for aerating liquid in a tank. The porous metal may be bronze, copper, nickel, copper-nickel or coppernickel-tin. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 606,418.
