Abstract
557,958. Filters for liquids. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 23, 1942, No. 16531. Convention date, Nov. 29, 1941. [Class 46] [Also in Groups XXXVI and XIII] In the fluid system of an electrical apparatus consisting of a liquid dielectric and a gas, the system being hermetically sealed and its pressure being maintained constant during a predetermined range of temperatures, is a filter system comprising pipes 56 ..... 59, filter 55, screen 61, pipe 63 and valves 62, 64, 66. The filter 55, Fig. 7, consists of a pair of openended baskets 70, 71, with welded end-rings 72, screens 73 and cork gaskets 74, paper filters and further screens. The space within the inner screens 73 may be filled with Fillers' earth. The fluid enters the central chamber 78 by pipe 59 and passes out through chambers 79, pipes 81, 60 to screen chamber 61.
