Abstract

940,859. Compressors; exhaust silencers. S. T. DESIGNED DISPLAY Ltd. July 25, 1962 [July 24, 1961], No. 26692/61. Headings FIB and FIN. A closed silencing chamber 6 Fig. 1 is interposed between sections 4, 5 of the delivery pipe connecting a low pressure compressor 1 to a tank 3 containing liquid e.g., a tropical fish tank. Both sections of piping extend into the interior of the chamber 6 which also serves to trap liquid which may have seeped back from the tank 3. The chamber may also include an air filter (not shown) and may comprise a short length of open-ended tubing 9 closed at both ends by plugs 10 through which the pipe sections 4, 5 extend.
