Abstract

1381137 Ventilating I C engine crank-cases GENERAL MOTORS CORP 5 Oct 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 45896/72 Heading F1B [Also in Division F2] Movement of a valve plunger 70 within an orifice 60 in a housing 48, 54 in response to a pressure differential across the plunger, is limited in one direction by a stop 62 and when the plunger is abutting the stop a recess 80 on the plunger extends into but not through the orifice. The recess 80 accommodates deposits scraped off the plunger 70 at the orifice 60. The housing 48, 54 is mounted in a rubber grommet 68 in the rocker cover 42 of an engine (10), Fig. 1 (not shown) and is connected by a conduit 46 to the engine intake manifold (32).
