Abstract
751,495. Clip fastenings. AUFERMANN, [nee NOCKEMANN], A. Jan. 8, 1954 [June 10, 1953; Oct. 7, 1953], No. 646/54. Class 44. In a clip for garment supporting straps, e.g. braces, of the kind having two clamping jaws 4, 8 carried by a suspension loop 11, which co-operate with a tensioning or clamping lever 16 and have on each of their parts co-operating with the garment a gripper 19 which is preferably elastic and which increases the frictional grip of the jaws, the grippers are arranged in receiving members 18 connected to the jaws. The jaw 8 is connected to the jaw 4 by means of integral tongues 7 which engage an aperture 6 in a bent-over part 5 of the jaw 4. The lever 16 is pivotally mounted in lugs 14 which are integral with the jaw 4 and it has a lug 16<SP>1</SP> which has camming engagement with the jaw 8. The suspension loop has its ends positioned between the jaws 4, 8 and it is retained in position by projections on the edges of the jaw 8. The receiving members 18 for mounting the grippers 19 as shown as being of channel section, the grippers being held in position by claw-like lugs 17. The members 18 are attached to the jaws by intergral lugs 20 which are bent over the edges of the jaws, the jaw edges being recessed so that the lugs do not protrude and the rear jaw 4 has impressed ribs 3, 3<SP>1</SP> which protrude at the rear further than the lugs. In a modification the receiving members are trough-like members with apertured bases through which the grippers protrude.
