Class 43 [Also in Group XXV] A two part fastening device for waistbands comprises a plate with a flange 4 on either side of a central depression 3 which rests on-one overlapping end of the waistband and a second plate 18 which seats on the other end and has inturned edges 19 which slide over the flanges 4, and bent up flange 20 on the end of the plate 18 acts as a stop. Prongs 6<SP>1</SP>, 21 extend from the plates and pass through the band and back plates and are clamped thereto. Alternatively the back plate has the prongs which pass through the plate 18 and are clamped thereto. The second plate may alternatively comprise spaced arms 25 with flanges 27 which engage the raised flanges 4 of the first plate. The transverse part 26 of the second member acts as a stop. The first plate may comprise a central panel 30 with raised flanges 34 extending beyond cranked parts 31 seating on the waistband and the second plate has openings 37, 38, the flanges 36 of the narrower opening engage the flanges 34 of the first plate the closed end of the second plate acts as a stop.
