[Also in Group XXIV] In a clicking press in which a lever 28 is rocked by an eccentric strap 13 to tighten a brake band 26 around a drum 20 on the press shaft 11 to stop the press after one revolution of the shaft means is provided to move the fulcrum 30 of the lever 28 to release the brake upon actuation of the clutch actuating member. The fulcrum 30, guided in slots in a fixed bracket 32, is carried on a link 33 pivoted at 34 to a link 35 on a fixed pivot 36. The links 33, 35 form a toggle which is retained normally straight by a spring 38 and an abutment 37 on the link 33. Upon actuation of the press starting handle a rod 25 moves upwardly and moves a cam 21 clear of a clutch bolt 19. The latter, under spring action, expands a clutch ring 17 to clutch the driving pulley 16 to the drum 20. At the same time the rod 25 moves a rod 39 connected to the link 33 to break the toggle and disengage the brake. Specification 22023/05; [Class 31], is referred to.
