Abstract
748,685. Piston packing. BERGERON, A April 29, 1954 [Jan. 18, 1954], No. 12430/54. Class 122(1) A compound piston-ring comprises an inner split-ring 12 and an outer split-ring 10, an annular rib 24 on the inner ring engaging a recess in the outer ring and a plurality of spaced surfaces 44, 46, 52, 54, 58, 60 on the ends 40, 42 of the outer ring substantially perpendicular to the sides 16, 26 of the ring. The inner ring, which may have its ends in contact with a key 62 as in Specification 748,677, can be of the same width as the outer ring or seat against a surface 34 in the outer ring, as illustrated.
