803,250. Piston rings. GOETZEWERKE F. GOETZE, A.G. Nov. 5,1956 [Jan. 21, 1956], No. 33673/56. Addition to 774,032. Class 122 (1). A piston ring as described in the parent Specification and comprising an inner body portion 1 of circular cross-section and an integral sealing flange extending tangentially outwardly therefrom and inclined to the central plane of the ring, is divided on at least one diameter to form a number of parts 2. To minimize leakage through the gaps 3 adjoining end faces may overlap each other. If the body portion has an outwardly open hollow profile an inwardly tensioned spring ring or a garter spring may be housed therein.
