744,263. Roller weighting means. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES. June 15, 1953 [June 19, 1952], No. 16436/53. Class 120 (2). A roller weighting device for drawing rollers of textile spinning &c. machines comprises an arcuate saddle member bearing at one end against a support member and coupled at the other end to the shaft of a weighting roller, and means for applying a load to the saddle member, the arrangement being such that the saddle member is pulled down by the load and thereby exerts a pull between the support member and the shaft of the weighting roller causing the latter to bear against an adjacent roller. In the arrangement shown the saddle member consists of a hooked member 12 and a lever 15 connected by an articulated joint with an adjustable screw 12d between them. The member 12 is suspended from the shaft of weighting roller 13 and the lever 15 carries a stud 16 which bears against a member 17. A tie-rod 18 is connected to the articulated joint and is brought under tension by a spring 19. The bearing member 17 is arranged on a lever 20 secured on a shaft 21 to which is also secured a lever 22 acted upon by an adjustable screw 23. By means of this arrangement the pressure between the rollers can be adjusted and also the rollers can be unloaded completely by turning screw 23 until the stop 18a on the tie-rod 18 bears against the support means.
