789,529. Supporting pipes. GENERAL SPRING CORPORATION. Jan. 22, 1954 [Oct. 7, 1953], No. 20678/57. Divided out of 789,527. Drawings to Specification. Class 99(2). [Also in Group XXXII] A load-supporting arrangement for exerting a substantially constant supporting force on a load (e.g., piping) that is movable up and down within a predetermined range of movement, includes a supporting structure mounted for rotation about a main axis on a frame, a load connection on the supporting structure for causing the load to exert a turning moment about the axis, means connected to a second connection on the supporting structure for producing a turning moment to oppose the moment produced by the load, at least one of the connections being adjustable toward and away from the axis, a first indicator means coupled to the adjustable connection and being movable toward and away from the axis in response to the adjustment, the first indicator means being movable along an arcuate path about the axis in response to load movement, and a second indicator means on the frame co-operating with the first indicator means, whereby the first and second indicator means indicate both the adjustment and the position of the load.
