Abstract

589,895. Weighting apparatus for the drawing mechanism of textile machines. SCHOFIELD, E. J. (Representative of SCHOFIELD, J.), and SCHOFIELD, Jun., J. March 30, 1945, No. 8086. [Class 120 (ii)] Pressure is applied to the front and back weighting saddles C<1>, C<2> of the top drafting rollers of ring spinning and like textile machines through a connecting bar D by a weighting lever E pivotally mounted on a bracket F below the roller stand and under the influence of a pressure lever G which is the sole means of applying pressure and is also pivotally mounted on the bracket F. The bracket F is capable of receiving an angular movement about an axis parallel to the rollers to allow of adjustment of the weighting lever E. The end g<1> of the pressure lever G may be hand operated to apply or increase the pressure of the other end g<2> against the weighting lever E. Additional adjustment may be effected by movement of the bracket F mounted on a bar H which, according to the Provisional Specification, may be square, hexagonal, or circular with splines, and on which is also mounted a bracket M having a nut and slot adjusting device. According to the Provisional Specification, a catch may be provided when the lever G is moved in a direction opposite to that necessary for pressure application.
