742,953. Feeding from hoppers. G.D. SOC. ANON. 'July 3, 1953 [July 3, 1952; Feb. 19, 1953], No. 18456/53. Addition to 699,448, [Group XVII]. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XVII] Candies are thrown into a hopper 11 having as its base raised disc 6 intermittently driven from shaft 2 through Geneva gearing 3, 4, the articles being introduced at 34 and swept by oscillating prongs 38 into the pockets 7 so that those articles positioned in said pockets emerge at exit 29 to be fed to a wrapping machine whilst those' articles not so positioned are carried round the inside of the wall 30 of the hopper back to the entrance position. As shown, exit 29 is provided with brush 32, the bottoms of the pockets being formed by fixed rails 8.
