Abstract
741,484. Magnetic switches. HAYNES, J. K. Jan. 29, 1954 [Jan. 29, 1953], No. 2618/53. Class 38(5) A switching device operable by the flow of gas through a conduit a comprises a pivoted see-saw lever e carrying a permanent magnet f and a vane g and having an adjustable counter-balance weight h. A further pivoted see-saw lever n arranged on the other side of a non-magnetic wall o carries a mercury switch j and a permanent magnet k and has a counter-balance weight m. The arrangement is such that when the lever e is moved counter-clockwise by the gas flow the lever n is moved clockwise by the magnets f, k and the switch j makes or breaks a circuit. On cessation of the gas flow the device is restored to its original condition.
