Abstract
1,173,035. Magnetic switches. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 31 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966], No. 4616/67. Heading H1N. A magnetic push-button switch has a sealed magnetic reed contact unit 10, 11, 12 in a brass tube 15 extending through magnetic discs 16, 17 in a cup-shaped non-magnetic housing 23. Two oppositely polarized annular permanent magnets 18, 19 and a magnetic guide bush 21 are also mounted in the housing 23. The bush 21 has a non-magnetic liner 25 in which a magnetic push-button 22 is slidable so that its wider inner end 28 can approach the disc 16. The button 22 is biased by a compression spring 29, to the position shown in which the flux from the magnet 18 holds the contacts 11, 12 closed. When the end 28 is moved close to the disc 16 the flux of magnet 18 is diverted so that the opposing flux from magnet 19 causes the contacts to open.
