Abstract

1,260,326. Movable magnet switches. PYE T.M.C. Ltd. 19 Oct., 1970 [28 Oct., 1969], No. 52766/69. Heading H1N. A magnetic push-button switch for a keyboard has a permanent magnet 3 movable with its spring biased push-button assembly 1 and spaced adjustable ferrous member 4 which attracts the magnet 3 to its inoperative position. The switch shown has two annular permanent magnets 3 mounted on the push-button assembly 1 with their axes normal to the direction of movement thereof. Ferrous strips have their ends in slots (13) in panels 8 which mount sealed magnetic reed contact units 2 between buffers 14. The magnets can be mounted for normally open or normally closed contact operation (Fig. 6, not shown). Biasing springs 5 act between the housing and lugs (10) on the assembly 1.
