Platens andfeed-rollers.-A platen roll assembly for a typewriter or like machine having a reciprocating, cam-operated pin-wheel feed, has a locating plate 23 fast to the cam and an anchor plate 27 detachably connected to the locating plate and adapted for engagement with spaced stationary parts on the machine, e.g. paper guide 11 and scale 12, so that the plate 27 is secured against rotation. The plate 27 is arranged in position with a bifurcated end 31 engaging the guide 11; a stud 33 passes through the arms of the bifurcation and is embraced by a slotted abutment arm 36 which is adjusted to engage the scale 12. On tightening a screw 38 in the stud 33 the anchor plate and the arm 36 are secured together and fixed in position. Adjustment of the cam relative to the anchor plate 27 may be initially set by adjustment of the locating plate 23 on a disc 19 carrying the cam, and movement of the cam so that the outward position of the pins is effective or ineffective to feed the stationery is done by finger movement of a serrated segment 26 of the locating plate 23 so that a pawl 29 on the anchor plate 27 is located alternatively in a notch 24 or 25 of the disc 19.
